WORLDWIDE MINERALS 1
QUARTZ, SPHALERITE AND RHODOCHROSITE -
Sparkling clear quartz crystals enrusted with tiny white explosions of
calcite intermittently sprinkled with soft pink coloured rhodochrosite rosettes perched upon the quartz and tucked in amongst this are dramatically contrasting metallic dark sphalerite crystals. The largest sphalerite being 25mm and there are some very complex group
formations of sphalerite which I have never seen before. The more
you look at this, the more intriguing it is.A truly beautiful piece
and a good size.I found 4 qtz xls were damaged out of all on the
piece and I had to look hard. There are many micro sprays of
clear qtz in amongst all the other larger qtz which enhances the
features of this great specimen even more. It really is a special
piece. Photo does not do it justice. Will forward more pics if you like. Size: 180 x 160 x 40mm thick

There is no doubt that this specimen is a real stunner and
it would be hard to find another like it from Trepca - that
incredible mine which produced so many wonderful
combinations many years ago. The contrast of the golden
pyrite with the metallic black sphalerite and the pristine
white quartz and semi-translucent calcites is a wonderful
sight. This truly is a classic piece and is in excellent condition.
It's very hard to acquire such treasures nowadays.

a calcite twin to the right amongst all the semi-transparent calcites
arranged on top of the fluorite. A really aesthetic and interesting

FLUORITE ON QUARTZ
ZIANG HUALIN, HUNAN, CHINA
This small cabinet sized specimen is very nice. The tall transparent quartz
has a smaller one growing behind it which shows through giving the illusion
that it is an inclusion at first glance. The purple fluorites are blocky and make
an interesting formation and contrast behind the tall quartz. Contact areas are
at the back of the fluorite matrix and underneath where it was attached to a host.
